Itinerary

Day 1.Moscow..Welcome to Russia. You are met on arrival at Moscow airport, and then transferred by private car to your hotel.Accomodation The Ritz Carlton
 
Day 2.Moscow.Your captivating full-day tour of this magnificent city begins with a visit to Red Square and its prominent landmarks - Lenin's Tomb and St. Basil's Cathedral. You will also visit the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, one of Russia's most important cathedrals, before heading to the Novodevichy Convent Cemetery, the final resting place of a myriad of greats such as Khrushchev. You may also wish to take a ride on the famous Moscow metro for the splendour of its stations. After lunch, you'll enter the Kremlin Territory and its State Armoury, home to a selection of carriages from the best Russian and European masters, precious fabrics, royal gala clothes and a fine collection of Fabergé eggs. You'll visit two of the Kremlin's cathedrals: Assumption, the cathedral of coronations and the burial place of religious leaders, and Archangel, the royal burial church.
 
Day 3.Moscow.This morning visit the Tretyakov Gallery, which houses the world's best collection of Russian icons. This afternoon choose between the Pushkin Museum of Fine Art; a guided tour through the Moscow Space Museum accompanied by a seasoned astronaut or a visit to the Cold War Museum where 65m underground a network of tunnels formed one of the Soviet Union's most secretive communications centres.
 
Day 4.St.Petersburg.Transfer to the rail station and board the high-speed train to St. Petersburg, enjoying dinner on board. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel, check in and unwind. Or, explore downtown St. Petersburg independently.Accomodation Four Seasons Hotel Lion Palace
 
Day 5.St.Petersburg.Today  you  are escorted on a guided tour of the Peter and Paul fortress in the morning, before showing you the best of the city's 18th century palaces and elegant canals.In the afternoon spend as much time as you like enjoying the masterpieces of the Hermitage museum, housed in the city's most impressive building, the Winter Palace on the immense Palace Square.
 
Day 6.St.Petersburg.Drive into the countryside village of Pushkin to discover sparkling Catherine Palace, built in the mid-18th century for Czarina Elizabeth, who named the palace in honor of her mother. The building was reconstructed by four different architects; then, Bartholomeo Rastrelli — chief architect of the Imperial Court — was instructed to redesign the structure on a scale to rival Versailles. After lunch at a local restaurant with traditional folk entertainment, explore Pavlovsk Great Palace, an 18th-century Russian imperial residence built by Paul I of Russia.
 
Day 7.St.Petersburg.Transfer to the airport and board your homebound flight.

Best Time to Visit:
February: Maslenitsa, a Mardi Gras-like celebration in Moscow. April/May: St Petersburg Music Spring Festival of classical music. May-July: White Nights Festival, several months-long festival (when the sun barely sets) of music, opera, ballet and the amazing Scarlet Sails including fireworks in St Petersburg. November: Russia Revolution Day with huge parades and mass displays of gymnastics in Moscow. Weatherwise: May to October is the best time to enjoy pleasant summer days. Russian winters can be extremely cold, but, rugged up, also very romantic.
