Itinerary

Day 1 - Muscat.Your journey begins with your flight to Muscat.You will be met at the airport and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel.Accomodation Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort Al Husn or Similar
 
Day 2 - Muscat.Muscat offers the visitor a unique opportunity to witness a modern commercial centre existing in harmony with its traditional culture. Muscat with its natural harbour means "Anchorage" & lies in a natural volcanic bowl. Today view the enchanting port city of Muscat and the magnificent splendour of the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and the Bait Al Zubair museum, showcasing an incredible display of Omani antiques. Drive along the waterfront Corniche visiting the bustling Muttrah Souq before an afternoon at leisure.
 
Day 3 - Muscat/Jabal Shams Mountains.As you head into the mountain range visit Jabrin the finest of Omani castles. Enter Oman's Grand Canyon and stop at the terrace farming village of Wadi Ghul. Drive to the abandoned village of Wadi Nakher .Accomodation The View
 
Day 4 - Jabal Shams Mountains/Nizwa/Wahiba Sands.Through the rugged interior, drive to the historic village of Nizwa and explore the spectacular fort which boasts the largest round tower in Oman. Also see the old crafts continued in the souq workshops by men stooped over anvils, clanking away, amidst an array of other old antiques and handicrafts. A pocket of red dunes await in the Wahiba Sands, made famous by the exploits of the late Wilfred Thesiger.Accomodation Desert Nights Camp
 
Day 5 - Wahiba Sands - Muscat.After time in the morning for various desert activities, continue to Sur and visit the fish jetty and dhow factory. The ruins of Bibi Miriam's Tomb can be seen at the village of Qalhat on coastal road to Muscat. Stop at Fins beach for a swim. The next stop is the Bimah Sinkhole, a spectacular limestone crater with blue green water at the bottom. On clear sunny days while driving along the coast one might see sharks in the deep blue water or fleet footed Gazelle sprint across the landscape. When to Go: The months between May and August are particularly hot. The climate is best from September through to April. Rainfall varies according to the region. During the period June to September there is a light monsoon rain in Salalah.
