Itinerary

Day1-2.REYKJAVIK.Getting off to an immediate start, you will be collected at the airport and taken to the beautiful geothermal pools of the Blue Lagoon. Set amidst a dramatic field of black basalt lava, relax in the mineral rich waters that average a balmy 35-40C, before looking over the spectacular views in the sauna and steam baths. You will then head to Reykjavik where you will stay two nights at your hotel.Accomodation 101 Hotel 
 
Day 2-Reykjavik.Exploring the cosmopolitan capital on the second day, you will be taken on a tour around Reykjavik’s major landmarks. From the lively coast and harbour to the remarkable building, the Pearl, you will spend the day immersed in the quirky Icelandic city. After seeing the city from the ground, you will then board a private helicopter and fly over the dramatic scenery to the natural hot springs in the colourful Hengill geothermal area- taking 'bathing in style' to a whole new level.
 
Day 3-4.SNAEFELLSNES PENINSULA.Spending two nights in the ‘miniature Iceland’, you will explore the famous Snaefellsjokul glacier, wander along the interesting beaches, full of caves, canyons and cliffs made of columnar basalt, tour around the tiny Icelandic villages and follow the path of lava flow through an 8,000 year old cave. With all that happening on the first day, your second day on the peninsula will revolve around the sea, with a visit to the shark museum in Bjarnarhof, where you can learn how to make the traditional fermented shark and even taste some if you dare. You will then go on a thrilling boat trip to see the majestic whales in the North Atlantic Ocean.Accomodation Hotel Egilsen
 
Day 5-6.GOLDEN CIRCLE.The most popular sightseeing tour in Iceland, you will follow the Golden Circle to see the magnificent waterfall, a hot spring area and geyser, and a national park on the UNESCO preservation list. Starting with Thingvellir National Park, the national shrine of Iceland, wander along the tectonic plates seen above sea level that are slowly splitting the country apart. Second on the tour is a stop at the Geysir hot springs so that you can see the vast geothermal fields dotted with bubbling, multi-coloured mud pools. Last on the day’s tour, via a greenhouse that grows tomatoes even in the harsh winter, is the thundering Gullfoss waterfall and its 32 metre drop. After completing the Golden Circle, you will head to the ION, a stylish and sleek hotel set in the volcanic landscape, for two nights as it provides a stunning location to watch the Northern Lights.On the last leg of your holiday, you will be able to walk along the fantastical black sand beaches of Iceland’s South Coast. Walking to Dyrholaey, you can spot some of the inhabitants of the 120m high rock, such as the charming local puffins. Day 7.At the end of you encompassing holiday, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight home.

Best Time to Visit:
June to September is a great time to enjoy a mild ocean climate thanks to the Gulf Stream. It is relatively mild in winter and cool in summer but this is when you can enjoy almost 24 hours of daylight. The weather can change several times during the day. In midwinter, whilst there is little daylight, it is one of the best times to see the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis).
