Luxury Holiday to New York, Newport, and The Hampton

Itinerary

Day1-3.NEW YORK.Fly straight to New York, and spend three nights at gorgeous boutique hotel. One of our favourite ways to begin is with a morning walk down to Battery Park, followed by a lazy brunch and a wander around MoMA which is right on The Greenwich’s doorstep. After this, your personal driver will transport you back in time to New York’s Gilded Age, for champagne at Grand Central Station, tea at the Russian Tearooms, or perhaps a concert with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.Accomodation The Greenwich

Day 4-5.NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND.Today you will transferred by a private car to Newport. For a total contrast to the city, you’ll go where 19th century tycoons once “summered,” and retreat to Newport, Rhode Island, for understated luxury, and a relaxed yachty scene.Staying here, you’ll be walking distance to the harbour and bustling Thames Street where you’ll find fantastic seafood restaurants, and historic New England-style mansions. One of the best ways to see it all is by taking a breezy coastal walk up in the cliffs, and after this you can enjoy golf, tennis, and sailing, before traditional afternoon tea on The Grace’s harbour-facing roof-terrace.Accomodation The Vanderbilt Grace

Day 6-8.SHELTER ISLAND, THE HAMPTONS.From the old-fashioned gentility of Rhode Island, you’ll take the ferry across the sound to Shelter Island in The Hamptons, and join Manhattan’s bright young things for vibrant beach parties, surfing, and people-watching. Spend your days sunning yourself on the beautiful Atlantic Coast beaches, learning how to surf, and indulging in lobster at Sunset Beach’s renowned restaurant. You can also trek into the Mashomack nature reserve, which couldn’t feel further from New York, before enjoying The Hamptons’ legendary sunsets, bonfire-BBQs, and parties on the beach.Accomodation The Sunset Beach

Day 9-Newyork.Fly back home.

The Vanderbilt Grace-Newport. It is an historic boutique hotel in Rhode Island just minutes from the delightful waterfront of Newport, and is one of the town’s best kept secrets.Originally built by Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt, a scion of the wealthy Vanderbilt family, the 1909 property is a vintage Newport mansion that has been restored to its former glory and is one of the few private homes of the era to operate for guests as a fully functioning and top luxury hotel in Rhode Island. Today, as The Vanderbilt Grace, the mansion comprises a luxurious hotel with 33 rooms and luxury suites in Newport Rhode Island and a lavish spa and fitness center with indoor and outdoor pools. The hotel features two restaurants including Muse, a sumptuous restaurant where the best local ingredients are on offer in imaginative menus which change throughout the year.

Best Time to Visit:
From June to August, the weather is pleasant and mostly sunny, though it tends to be humid. Summer weather is ideal for travel; Fall, from September to November, is another extremely popular time to visit. Upstate, the air turns to crisp jacket weather in September, but farther south summertime lingers until early October. New York's beautiful fall foliage is a huge draw, especially in mid-October -- the best time to catch trees sporting brilliant reds and golds.
